In Thursday Europa League action, all three Bundesliga clubs came up victorious. VfB Stuttgart defeated Young Boys of Switzerland 3-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, while Bayern Leverkusen shut down Norwegian club Rosenborg by a 4-0 score. In a hotly contested match, Borussia Dortmund rallied from a 3-2 deficit to defeat Karpaty Lviv 4-3 in the Ukraine.
VfB Stuttgart took their lead midway through the first half over their Swiss Group H opponents. Striker Pavel Pogrebnyak drew a foul in the 23rd minute, which strike partner Cacau converted. At the hour mark, VfB Stuttgart doubled the lead as Christian Gentner netted from 18 yards out after being played in by captain Cacau. Young Boys goalkeeper Marco Wolffi denied shots by Daniel Didavi, Martin Harnick and former Juventus star Mauro Camoranesi before giving up a third goal in stoppage time to German international Serdar Tasci. Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich only had to make two saves in collecting the clean sheet for Coach Christian Gross’ squad.

On Saturday morning, GolTV will bring the live matchup of defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich hosting Cologne at 9:30 am ET. Bayern Munich will be fresh off their Champions League win over AS Roma Wednesday, a 2-0 victory in which AS Roma held steady against the Bayern Munich onslaught until Thomas Muller finally broke the scoreless contest with a beautiful shot in the 78th minute. Miroslav Klose doubled the score five minutes later. Cologne has won once and lost twice in its first three Bundesliga outings.
